Buckle up for Pixar’s latest ride: Lightning McQueen races from the spotlight of life in the fast lane to discovering small town charm and the joy of the simple things in life.
Story: Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) is the most talented rookie to hit the track in years, but his ego and self-centred attitude overshadow his talent and lead to a 3-way tie for the Piston Cup in a race he could have easily snagged.
It's off to California for the tiebreaker where McQueen will face racing legend The King (voiced by Richard Petty) and the arrogant cheat, Chick Hicks (voiced by Michael Keaton).
One high-speed chase on a wrecked street lands McQueen on an unexpected detour in Radiator Springs, a nearly abandoned town.
There's just one problem: he can't leave until he repairs the road, and the Piston Cup Championship is only a few days away.
While there, McQueen's time with Doc (voiced by Paul Newman), Mater (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy), Sally (voiced by Bonnie Hunt) and the rest of the Route 66 gang provide laughs for the whole family. The animation technology is so vivid that if it weren't for the fact that these cars talk, have eyes and stick out their tongues, you'd think they were the real thing. While the predictable plot drags on at points, the social commentary made via the cars provides enough
entertainment for the older viewer to be content throughout the movie. Owen Wilson fans will be pleased, as he proves to be an enjoyably perfect fit for McQueen.
